The first question I will ask is "Why do people go to church?"
The Christian answer is to get closer to God. But do you really think everybody goes to church for that reason?
If that was the reason then why doesn't everyone tithe that goes to church?
Being raised and living in the south there is an expectation of going to church by society. You will go to church or at least know the name of one when somebody asks you if you go to church. This may not be the case everywhere.
I will be researching both in the Bible and elsewhere for an answer to this question.
